By assuming the role of War the first Horseman of the Apocalypse who was accused of starting a war between Heaven and Hell, the player will return to a post-apocalyptic Earth, hunted by Angels and fighting against demons released from Hell. With wide range of upgradable weapons and riding his phantom steed known as Ruin, War will start an epic adventure in order to find why he was accused for something he never did and who is behind these actions. In Darksiders the environments are filled with diabolical creatures and the sky is covered with Angels, therefore War has to use every object he finds as a weapon. And this can be done in the game, as well as the freedom to explore the entire world the action takes place in. Hack and Slash gameplay, upgradeable weapons, skills and abilities, mixed with the action of a war between good and evil and a hero who opposes both of them at the same time.
