Dark Horse Comics is the third largest comic book publishing company in the United States.

Founded in 1986 by comic book shop owner Mike Richardson, Dark Horse publishes a combination of licensed and creator-owned comics. Among the licensed titles are Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Aliens and Who Wants to be a Superhero?. Among the creator-owned titles are Frank Miller's Sin City, Mike Mignola's Hellboy, Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira and Michael Chabon's The Escapist.

Dark Horse's film arm, Dark Horse Entertainment, produces films based on the company's comic titles including Hellboy and The Mask.

Dark Horse is based in Milwaukie, Oregon.
