Darius Songaila is a professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the NBA.
Songaila moved to the United States while still in high school. He would then play four years for the Wake Forest University basketball team. Songaila was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2002, but played in Europe for a year. His rights were traded to the Sacramento Kings where he played until 2005 when he signed with the Chicago Bulls.
During the offseason in 2006, Songaila signed with the Washington Wizards. He was suspended on May 2, 2008 for committing a hard foul on LeBron James during the playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Songaila also played on the Lithuania national basketball team which won the 2003 European Championship. He also played in 2004 Summer Olympics.
