Darell Garretson was a referee in the National Basketball Association. He refereed games from 1967 to 1994, and was also the NBA's Supervisor of Officials from 1981 to 1998. Garretson served as a referee for 1,798 regular season games, 269 playoff games, 41 NBA Finals games, and five All-Star games. He was also responsible for summer training programs for referees, as well as expanding officiating crews from two to three referees per game. Garretson passed away on April 20, 2008.
