  • Daredevil is a fictional hero in the Marvel Universe. Though not as well-known as the top tier of Marvel Comics characters like Spiderman or The Hulk, Daredevil is nonetheless one of the oldest and most well-beloved heroes in Marvel's list. Daredevil has appeared in several of his own comic book series, a few Spiderman cartoons, and was even featured in a movie starring Ben Affleck.
  • The Man without Fear

Daredevil is known as The Man without Fear, but why? It could be attributable to his powers and disabilities: despite his blindness, the rest of his senses more than make up the difference. His sonar-like ability gives him a kind of 360 degree vision, and his hearing and sense of smell are so keen that just those two would be more useful than a normal person's vision. However, it is more likely a reference to his actions. As Daredevil, he fearlessly pursues criminals in organized crime syndicates, and as attorney Matt Murdoch, he fearless prosecutes them in a court of law. He has dealt with many serious enemies in both arenas, and though it is a huge risk, fear is never a deterrent for him.
