Professional hockey player Darcy Hordichuk is originally from Canada and plays for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League.
NHL Career
Hordichuk was drafted 180th overall in the 2000 NHL Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers. He joined the team that same year and split his first two professional seasons between the Thrashers and their International Hockey League and American Hockey League affiliates. On March 19, 2002, Hordichuk was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes. Just short of a year later, on March 8, 2003, he was traded again, this time to the Florida Panthers. He stayed with the Panthers until July 27, 2005, when the Panthers sent him to the Nashville Predators. He was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on June 18, 2008, but was reportedly unable to agree to a contract with the Hurricanes and entered free agency.The Fourth Period: Hurricanes won't sign Hordichuk (June 24, 2008) On July 1, 2008, Hordichuk signed with the Vancouver Canucks.
