Dar Williams is an American folk singer/songwriter whose heartfelt lyrics made her a success on the festival circuit. While most of her work has been as a solo artist, she occasionally collaborates with Richard Shindell and Lucy Kaplansky in the folk trio Cry, Cry, Cry.
Besides singing and songwriting, Williams is an accomplished children's book author, and has penned the Amalee series including the book Lights, Camera, Amalee.

Career
Williams began singing at her alma mater, Wesleyan University. She then got the chance to open for legendary singer Joan Baez and performed on the singer's recording of "You're Aging Well." Williams went on to cut her debut album, The Honesty Room, and later received more acclaim for her second effort, Mortal City. Williams' first concert DVD, Live at Bearsville Theater, was released in October 2007.-
