Danny Richmond was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes at the 2003 NHL Draft 31st overall in the 2nd round. After playing only 10 games with Carolina in the 2006 season Richmond was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks for Anton Babchuk. After spending a couple seasons in Chicago for a total of 39 games Richmond was moved to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Tim Brent on July 17, 2008.
During the 2009 NHL Trade Deadline Danny Richmond was traded from Pittsburgh to the St. Louis Blues for Andy Wozniewski.
