Danny Boyle's career includes productions for theater, television and film. He has directed or produced a wide spectrum of movie genres including thriller, comedy, science fiction and family films. Starting in theater and television, Boyle moved into feature filmmaking with Shallow Grave, a 1994 film that was funded by Channel 4 and the Glasgow Film Grant. Boyle gained commercial success with his second movie, Trainspotting in 1996.
He made his first Hollywood production in 2000 with the movie, The Beach, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio. In 2002, Boyle made the zombie film, 28 Days Later... which featured Cillian Murphy. He followed up with the childhood adventure, Millions, in 2004.
