  • Danny Ainge is a retired baseball and basketball player. Currently he works as the General Manager and Executive Director of Basketball Operations for the NBA team the Boston Celtics.

    On April 16, 2009, Ainge reportedly suffered a heart attack. He awoke to chest pain and went to the hospital, at which doctors inserted a shunt to clear a completely blocked artery.     On October 28, 2008, news agencies reported that the Boston Celtics named Ainge the president of basketball operations for the Celtics. Ainge is the reigning NBA executive of the year.   • 2008 NBA Championship

    On June 17, 2008, the Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in the sixth game of the NBA Finals and won the 2008 NBA Championship. The last time the Celtics won the championship was in 1986.
