Danilo Gallinari played professional basketball at the age of 15 for the Italian teams Casalpusterlengo, Edimes Pavia, Olimpia Milano, and Armani Jeans Milano. He played in the Italian League All-Star Game, won a three-point shootout in 2007, and was a member of 2004 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship and 2005 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship. He also won the Euroleague's Rising Star award in 2007-08.
