A British coroner has ruled that 12-year-old Daniel Hurley died in January 2008 from using an excessive amount of spray deodorant in a confined space. Hurley collapsed in the bathroom of his Derbyshire home on January 7, 2008, after using Lynx deodorant spray, which carries a warning indicating it should be used in well-ventilated areas. According to the coroner's report, Hurley's cause of death was "cardiac arrhythmia, exacerbated by exposure to solvents."The Telegraph: Boy...Dies After Spraying Too Much...Deodorant

"I do not know how many people read the warnings about exposure awareness. But people need to know about the risks that these products have on the cardio-vascular system. Daniel copiously used deodorant in the bathroom and it seems the presence of a volatile agent caused the cardiac arrhythmia."—Dr. Robert Hunter, Derby and South Derbyshire CoronerThe Telegraph: Boy...Dies After Spraying Too Much...Deodorant
