American author Daniel Handler is an activist and accordion player who writes under the pseudonym of Lemony Snicket. He is author of the children's series, A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Career
After shopping his first book to several publishers The Basic Eight with almost no success, Daniel Handler took one last stab at writing with the children's novel A Series of Unfortunate Events. Unfortunate was an immediate success, Handler's career flourished, and he was commissioned to write several more installments of the Lemony Snicket adventures. Each book was more successful than the previous one, and the collection has been released as a film starring Jim Carrey.
