Daniel Driver was a California man who in 1993 was accused of molesting 6-year-old William Nessler. William's mother, Ellie Nesler, shot Driver dead in the courtroom during the preliminary trial. Ellie Nesler was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years. That conviction was overturned; in a plea deal, she pleaded guilty to manslaughter and spent 3 years in jail; she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2002, she was convicted of selling and possessing methamphetamine and sentenced to six years.
