Daniel Day-Lewis is an award-winning British actor best known for his roles as Hawkeye in The Last of the Mohicans and as Bill the Butcher in the Martin Scorsese film Gangs of New York. He is a method actor, known for his complete immersion into his roles through research and staying in character For the duration of his films.
In 2008 the Best Actor Oscar was given to him for his role in There Will Be Blood.
