  • Brief Bio

    The Orioles signed Cabrera as an amateur free agent after scouts in the Dominican Republic discovered the the 18-year old prospect in 1999. Cabrera did not begin pitch in the Orioles minor league system until two years later. Cabrera steadily worked his way up through the Oriole's farm system, making his major league debut in 2004. 2007 was Cabrera's first full season in the majors, in that year he posted a record of 12-8, a 5.00 ERA, 76 strikeouts, and finished 3rd in Rookie of the Year voting.
