Early Life
Born in Wyoming, Perino was raised in Colorado. After receiving her Master's in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield, Perino worked as the press secretary for Colorado Congressman Dan Schaefer. In 2001, Perino became spokesperson for the Department of Justice before becoming the Director of Communications of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
