Dan Severn followed up success in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling by entering the UFC in 1994. He would win the UFC 5 tournament as well as The Ultimate Ultimate tournament in 1995. In addition to competing, Severn has also trained and mentored several notable MMA fighters.Pro Wrestling

In 1995, Severn won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Chris Candido.
