Dancing with the Stars Rumors

On July 28, 2008, various gossip blogs reported that Dan Quayle was on the "short list" for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. Representatives of Mr. Quayle would not comment on the rumors but production staff from DWTS confirmed the reports. The Potato Incident

While campaigning in June of 1992, Dan Quayle was a guest at a spelling bee in Trenton, New Jersey. After a student correctly spelled "potato," Quayle told him that there should be an "e" at the end. In his memoir Standing Firm, Quayle wrote that the incident "was more than a gaffe. It was a 'defining moment' of the worst imaginable kind.
