Dan Hinote is a professional hockey player originally from the United States. He currently plays for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League.
Career Highlights
Prior to playing in the NHL, Hinote attended and played for the United States Military Academy. He was drafted 167th overall in the NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. That same year he joined the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League. In 1998, Hinote moved to the Hershey Bears, a Avalanche American Hockey League affiliate. He made his NHL debut in 1999, playing 27 games with the Avalanche. In 2001, he helped the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup Championship. During the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, Hinote played in Sweden for MODO Hockey. He returned to the United States for one additional season in Colorado, then entered free agency. On July 3, 2006, Hinote signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues.
