Dan Fogelberg died at his home in Deer Isle, Maine on Sunday, December 16, 2007. He was 56.
In May 2004, Fogelberg was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In August the following year, he posted a message on his website thanking fans for their support, and encouraging men to get examined for cancer early on.
Though he stated he had no plans to record and perform, his wife, Jean, revealed after his passing that eleven songs (nine originals) had been recorded since his diagnosis.
According to her, the songs will be compiled and released on a CD titled Love In Time in late 2008. Meanwhile, one of those songs, "Sometimes A Song", was released on iTunes with all proceeds being donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
