Career as a player
Dierdorf was an All-American as a senior at Michigan. With the Cardinals, he was considered one of the elite left tackles in the sport. He did not permit a single quarterback sack during the 1976 and 1977 seasons, and his play was part of the reason the Cardinals won back-to-back NFC East Division titles in 1974 and 1975. In 1996, he was honored with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. -
