Dan Dierdorf

  • Considered one of the best offensive linemen of his era, Dan Dierdorf is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He played 13 seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals in the National Football League. Currently he is a game analyst for the NFL on CBS.
  • Career as a player

    Dierdorf was an All-American as a senior at Michigan. With the Cardinals, he was considered one of the elite left tackles in the sport. He did not permit a single quarterback sack during the 1976 and 1977 seasons, and his play was part of the reason the Cardinals won back-to-back NFC East Division titles in 1974 and 1975. In 1996, he was honored with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
  • Career as a broadcaster

    Following his playing career, Dierdorf made the transition to football analyst. He first worked for CBS for two years before joining ABC on Monday Night Football for twelve years. He also called boxing for ABC, then he returned to CBS in 1999.
