Dan Burton is a ranking member of the subcommitte on the Western Hemisphere, an oversight committee whose priority matters include (but are not limited to): U.S. involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, U.S. policy toward Iran and North Korea, and other foreign policy issues. In 2002, Burton voted for authorizing military force in Iraq. In demonstration of his staunch support for the Iraq War, he voted against redeploying U.S. troops out of Iraq by March 2008. -
