Dan Bartlett served under George W. Bush from 1993 through to his resignation from the post of Counselor to President on June 1, 2007. As the Counselor to the President, Bartlett was responsible for overseeing all aspects of White House communications, including the Press Office and the Offices of Communications, Media Affairs, and Speechwriting from 2002 through 2007. Bartlett resigned from his position to get a less demanding job so he could spend more time with his family.
