About the Game
Damnation combines shooter gameplay elements with those of an action-adventure game. The main character Rourke can climb ladders, vault from ledges or balconies, wall climb, use zip lines, swing from lamp posts, and perform other acrobatic feats. If a gate is blocking Rourke's path, there's no need to hunt for a key. He can simply dive through the window. The versatility of his move set opens up vistas that are closed in most games. The game takes place on both a horizontal and vertical plane, and much of the action takes place from rooftops and dizzying cliffs. But Rourke isn't unique in his abilities. Enemies in the game can perform the same super-human stunts as him and, in the multiplayer game, other players can too.
Damnation's multiplayer co-op mode gives gamers the chance to play through the entire campaign with a friend. Normally, during the single-player game, Rourke is assisted by different NPCs for a short time. In the multiplayer mode, the second player takes control of the NPCs. There are also classic multiplayer modes like King of the Hill and Deathmatch, but these are spiced up a bit thanks to the game's unique vertical gameplay.GameTrailers.com: Damnation Producer Interview (Time: 4:22)
