About the Game
Damnation is a steampunk game dubbed a "vertical shooter" by developer Blue Omega. The game combines shooter gameplay elements with those of an adventure game, and takes the action to the rooftops. The main character Rourke can climb ladders, swing from ledges, wall climb, use zip lines, launch himself from lamp posts, dive through windows and perform other acrobatic feats.Since Rourke has an extensive move set, with the option to climb, swing or shoot his way through the level, there tend to be multiple paths he can take to reach a single destination. When a goal is presented to the player, there are no maps to lead the way.
There are a variety of NPCs in the game who assist Rourke in his missions. The co-op multiplayer mode allows two players to enjoy the single-player campaign together with the second guy controlling these NPCs. There are also classic multiplayer modes like King of the Hill and Deathmatch, set in a variety of maps that require players to make strategic use of Rourke's acrobitic move set.Official Site: Damnation
