  • Damien Rice is an Irish Folk singer from Dublin whose moody, sometimes melancholy music has been featured in numerous films and TV shows.

    Rice was originally a member of the band Juniper, but left in 1998 to pursue a solo career. His 2003 album, O, was a success in the UK, featuring the singles "The Blower's Daughter" (used in the 2004 film Closer), "Cold Water" (featured in ER), and "Cannonball" (used in The Black Donnellys and In Good Company).

    In 2006, Rice released his second studio album 9, which included the single "9 Lives," played in Grey's Anatomy and Shrek the Third.
