The Dallas Cowboys are a professional football team in the National Football League (NFL). They play in the Eastern Division with the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins. They play their home games at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. The team has been owned by Jerry Jones (who is also the President and General Manager) since 1989. They hold the record for most Super Bowl appearances with 8, and have won five of them (VI, XII, XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX). They are also the only NFL team to record 20 consecutive winning seasons from 1966-1985, and only missed the playoffs twice (1974 an 1984). Since 1990, the team has an unprecedented 160 consecutive sold out regular season and postseason games, including 79 straight sellouts in their former home, Texas Stadium and 81 straight sellouts on the road.
The Cowboys have one of the simplest –yet recognizable—logos in pro sports, the blue star (representing the Lone Star State). The original logo was a solid blue star, but in 1964 a white line and blue border was added. This logo has not changed since then.
