Dale Neumann is the step-father of Madeline Neumann, 11, who died of diabetes on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, while her parents prayed for her recovery. They told police that Madeline had last seen a doctor when she was three, for vaccinations. The Neumanns moved to Wisconsin from California about two years ago, and it was relatives in California who reportedly called the police, out of concern for the girl. Her father maintains that he started CPR "as soon as the breath of life left" her body.
