On April 11, 2009, Belfort's husband Cecil Ramsay confronted Belfort and a friend Edwin Chittick, at the Ramsay's house, accusing them of having an affair. Shooting in Long Island

According to police, on the morning of April 11, 2009, Dady Belfort and a friend Edwin Chitick were at the Ramsay home on Long Island when her husband Cecil Ramsay came in and accused them of having an affair. The argument grew loud, and Belfort and Chittick left the house in Chittick's car. Ramsay fired three shots at the car, injuring Chittick.
