D-Generation X (also known as DX) is a professional wrestling stable formed by WWE wrestlers Shawn Michaels and Triple H along with Chyna and Rick Rude. Originally a group of heels, fans grew fond of DX's rebellious, anti-authority stance, and along with Stone Cold Steve Austin, the faction helped usher in the WWE's "Attitude" era in the late 1990s.
When Triple H turned heel again in 1999, DX followed suit, and played key antagonists to Austin and The Rock before disbanding in 2000.
In 2006, original members Michaels and Triple H reformed the faction in response to Vince McMahon's bullying. With their hilarious, demeaning antics towards McMahon, DX nearly drove him insane (storyline), culminating in a memorable Hell in a Cell match against McMahon, his son Shane and the Big Show at Unforgiven 2006.
