  • According to university officials, the Cynthia Woods, a sailboat from Texas A&M University at Galveston, Texas, capsized around 2 a.m. on June 8, 2008. The boat, which was participating in a race from Galveston to Veracruz, Mexico, was manned by a crew of six.

    After searching for 18 hours, five crew members were rescued by the Coast Guard. A search for Roger Stone, the sixth crew member of the Cynthia Woods, is ongoing.
