    • During the series mankind quickly discovers that the Cylons look just like them and that anyone could be a cylon
  • The cylons of Battlestar Galactica, the re-imagined series, began as man-made machines built to serve and defend mankind. As the cylons began to evolve, they grew tired of serving and revolted against their creators. After a forty year silence, the cylons return and catch mankind off their guard. They start another war by setting off a series of nuclear attacks all throughout the Twelve Colonies.
  • Reintroduction of the Cylons

The re-imagined series kicks off with a three hour mini-series. A scantily clad woman walks into the Armistice Station where the humans have gone every year for the last forty years to sign a treaty. For forty years, the cylons never appear. The woman approaches the desk and asks the human representative, "Are you alive?" When the man says he is, she tells him to, "Prove it." Then she kisses him.

This scene begins a series of a attacks all throughout the Twelve Colonies, and in a very short time all that is left of humanity is a small band of ragtag ships led by the only remaining battlestar: the Galactica.SciFiPedia: Battlestar Galactica Miniseries Synopsis

  • Cylon Reproduction

At present, there are three known cylon models: centurions, raiders, and humanoid. Unable to reproduce amongst their own kind, a series of tests begin early in the series to produce human-cylon hybrids. They discovered that forced insemination would not work, and that in order for conception to occur, love had to be present between the parents. To date, only two Human-Cylon hybrids are known to have been born: Hera Agathon and Nicholas Tyrol. At the end of the first half of season four, Caprica Six is pregnant with Colonel Saul Tigh's child. Both Caprica Six and Colonel Tigh are cylons. The Patriot Resource: Episode 408: "Sine Qua Non" Spoilers
