Cut Chemist, whose real name is Lucas Macfadden, is one of the world's premiere turntablists and music producers. He was also a former DJ for the underground rap crew Jurassic 5 and an ex-member of Jazz-funk Latino band Ozomatli and Unity Committee. Artists he has worked with include DJ Shadow, Dark Leaf, Volume 10, and Major Force.
He had a cameo appearance in the Oscar winning movie Juno as a chemistry teacher in 2007.
