In this video, Mahalo technology expert Justin Zagri shows you how to customize the toolbar for your Mail program in Mac OS X Lion.
Customizing the Mail Toolbar
The Mail toolbar is the top row of icons in the window. Each icon gives you access to a feature in the Mail program. You can customize this toolbar by adding, deleting or rearranging features on it.Go to View --> Customize Toolbar. A window of options appears underneath the Mail toolbar.
Click and drag away any features you want to remove from the toolbar. To add a feature, select it from the window of options and drag it into the toolbar. You can add spaces between features by dragging the Space icon into the toolbar. Click and drag items to reorder them.
If you want to return to the default toolbar settings, click and drag the bottom row that says "or drag the default set into the toolbar."
The bottom left of the toolbar window contains options for viewing the features. Select from the menu to view them as icons, icons with text, or text only.
