Enjoy full days of touring the Inca ruins such as Qenqo, Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Cusco also has quite a few museums worth visiting, such as Museo Municipal de Arte Contemporáneo, Museo Historico Regional and the Museo del Sitio del Qoricancha. Don't forget to take the train and visit Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Festivals such as the Cusco Beer Festival, Cruz Velacuy, Lord of Huanca and Festival of OllantayRaymi bring together the sounds and flavors of lively theater when they reinvent the history of Cusco. If you are visiting around Christmas, make sure you to visit the Christmas in Cusco festival. Here you can watch highlanders perform dances and plays. Make sure you see the Nativity scenes put together out of the Huamanga stones.

Here in Cusco the traditional restaurants are called Chicherias and Picanterias where you can dine on typical dishes such as Kapchi (lima bean or mushroom soup with potatoes, milk, eggs, and cheese), Chicharrón con mote (pork rinds fried in their own fat, served with hominy or individual kernels of sweet corn), or Humita (a sweet or salty tamale, served without sauce).
