  • Condemned killer Curtis Moore was executed in Texas on January 14, 2009. Moore, who was convicted in the murders of three people during a November 1995 robbery spree in Fort Worth, Texas, was the first inmate to be put to death in the U.S. in 2009. Before he was given a lethal injection, the 40-year-old Moore thanked a woman who ministers to inmates.   • 1995 Murders

    Curtis Moore was convicted in the deaths of three people during a robbery spree in November 1995. Moore was found guilty of the shooting deaths of 24-year-old Roderick Moore and 21-year-old LaTanya Boone. Their bodies were found in a ditch near a Fort Worth, Texas, school. That same night, two men were found inside a burning car in Fort Worth. 20-year-old Henry Truevillian Jr. was killed; 21-year-old Darrel Hoyle survived the attack and ultimately provided information that led to the arrests of both Curtis Moore and his nephew, Anthony Moore.
