Curtis Brown is a professional hockey player originally from Canada. He currently plays with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.
Early Years
Curtis Brown began his hockey career with the Moose Jaw Canucks in the Western Hockey League in 1992. He was drafted 43rd overall in the 1994 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. After making his NHL debut in the shortened 1994-95 NHL season, Brown split his first few seasons between the Sabres and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans. In 1999, he joined the Sabres in the Stanley Cup Finals, where they were defeated by the Dallas Stars, thanks in part to the controversial "no goal".
Recent Years
Brown continued with the Sabres until March 9, 2004, when he was traded to the San Jose Sharks as part of a three team deal. He finished the season with the Sharks, then signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks on July 2, 2004. Brown joined the San Diego Gulls of the East Coast Hockey League during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, returning to make his Blackhawks debut the following season. Brown entered the free agency at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season and signed again with the San Jose Sharks on July 1, 2006.
