Cufflinks

    • Dates Back to 17th Century
    • Made out of various materials such as gold and silver
    • Large price range
    • Often monogrammed
  • Cufflinks are jewelry for men worn to keep the cuff on the sleeve closed. Cufflinks can be extravagant, containing diamonds and other precious jewels, or they can be simple and inexpensive.

Cufflinks are made to be used with link cuffs (French cuffs) which have two holes and no buttons. The cuffs can be single or double length and can be worn "kissing" or "barrel-style."

Cufflinks styles come in a wide variety. They come in simple discs that may or may not be connected with a chain. The visible side tends to be larger than the inside part. The visible portion is also typically decorated or monogrammed. Novelty cufflinks are also available.

  • Cufflink Alternatives

Silk knots are an alternative fastener for cuffs. These are also known as monkey's fists or turk's head. These knots are most often now made from elastic than from silk. Double-button cufflinks are also suitable alternatives. These are similar to silk knot style cufflinks.
