The ninth season of CSI begins where season eight left off. Warrick Brown was shot in his car by a corrupt police officer. The team will grieve and work together to find Brown's killer. In season nine, Laurence Fishburne and Lauren Lee Smith will join the cast as William Petersen, Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan leave the show. Peterson and Fox will have guest appearances throughout the season.
