Crystal and Johnnie Moutra

-->
  • Crystal and Johnnie Moutra competed against six other couples to win the first season of the ABC's reality show, Here Come the Newlyweds, which was hosted by comedian Pat Bullard and aired in Spring of 2008.

    Crystal accepted Johnnie's proposal during a Houston Rockets basketball game, where they’d shared their first date and first kiss after being fixed up by Johnnie's father a year and a half earlier. Prior to becoming reality TV stars, the couple shared a house and one car with ten of Johnnie's relatives, but said that being away from their family was the hardest part about competing on the show.

    During the final episode, titled, "And the Winner Is...", aired on April 6, 2008, the Moutras beat out Heather and Lance Holmes to win the grand prize $465,000 "nest egg."
