Crysis 2 Walkthrough

Crysis 2 is the sequel to Crytek's award-winning game, Crysis. Released on March 22nd, 2011, Crysis 2 continues the story of the original with the aliens continuing their invasion of Earth, after being defeated in the first game. Players will once again be able to use the familiar nano-suit with all of its perks; the slightly-modified cloak and armor modes.

The game features a completely new setting. While the original game was set in a natural jungle, Crysis 2 is set in the world's largest urban jungle, New York city. Nonetheless, the game still features groundbreaking graphics, just as the original Crysis; players will explore breathtaking views of the ravaged city, and fight both aliens and humans in visually-stunning combat. Contrary to this graphical improvement, the game actually has lower requirestment than the 2007 Crysis. Another big difference to note is that players will be able to use multiple nano-suit modes simultaneously.

The story of Crysis takes place in New York city in the year 2023. Three years after the events of the original game, the aliens, now identified as the Ceph, return to Earth. The invasion starts out with the spread of a deadly virus, and follows with a direct attack on New York city. The player takes control of Alcatraz, a US marine who comes into possession of the newly-upgraded nano-suit. Players will then have to battle both human and alien enemies, as they fight their way through the city and attempt to repel the alien invasion.

The gameplay of Crysis 2 is quite similar to the original. Players will complete objectives as they move further and further into the city. The core portion of combat consists in using the nanosuit's modes wisely. Stealth-killing large groups of isolated enemies with stealth mode, avoiding combat completely in stealth, and using armor modes to survive through heavy firefights are all typical examples. 

In addition to this, players will once again be able to use the environment to their advantage. The player can use the environment for cover, and for taking different routes to achieving the same objective. Where as in the original Crysis players were able to do things such as attacking out of a heavily-forested area to prevent being detected as easily, in Crysis 2 players will be able to adapt to the urban setting in a similar way by navigating buildings, rooftops and city streets.

Another key portion of the original game returns with weapon upgrades, as well as the new nano-suit upgrades. In this way, players will be able to choose how they want to modify their gear to suit their own playstyle.

The first mission of Crysis 2 is more of a short introduction to the controls than anything. For this walkthrough, players will navigate through a sinking submarine and get to the surface.

1. After the dialogue cut scene and the sudden explosion, you will gain control of your character.
2. Make your way after the other marines by using the WASD or arrow keys.
3. Press C to crouch and get through the narrow passage away. Press C to stop crouching.
4. After you fall down walk straight forward and into the door to the left.
5. Help the marine with the jammed door by walking up to it and pressing F.
6. Swim after the other marines.
