Gameplay

Crysis 2 is set in New York City in the not so distant future. The city is being invaded by aliens, and you are sent on a mission to help save it as part of team Alcatraz. You wear a bionic nanosuit that turns you into a super-human character, The nanosuit has three modes: strength mode, for more powerful attacks; stealth mode, which makes it difficult for the enemy to detect you; and armor, which provides extra defense. Using the modes will drain the suit's power, so using them wisely is part of the strategy of the game.

The full game is played in a first person perspective, and the game is based on planning and maneuvering as well as shooting. There is an arsenal of weapons that appear in the game, including the feline submarine fun, the sniper, the  jackal shotgun, the knife and the K-volt submarine gun.

Series

The original Crysis game was released in 2007, followed by stand-alone expansion game Crysis Warhead in 2008 and most recently Crysis 2.  Crysis Warhead also contains a second game called Crysis Wars. All games in the series are first-person shooters in which the protagonist dons a nanosuit and battles enemies.
