"Cruggs" is the colloquial term for the Croc Mammoth Shoe—a cold-weather variation of the Crocs plastic clog, lined with synthetic fur. Because this particular model of Crocs resembles Ugg Boots (the other major footwear trend of the mid-'00s) it has gained a nickname that implies a hybrid between Crocs and Uggs.

Cold Weather Crocs
One of over 40 variations on the Crocs design, Crocs Mammoths differ from basic Crocs in several ways. The synthetic fur lining adapts what was previously a semi-sandal into an insulated, winter-ready shoe. Rather than using a strap system, these Crocs are held on by the snug fit of the thick lining. Lastly, Cruggs leave out the side-holes standard on most Crocs, presumably for extra insulation. -
Criticism
Crocs Mammoth shoes have been met some of the same withering online fashion criticism as their fur-less predecessors.- "The only thing in the world I hate more than Crocs are Uggs. Evidently, the two have mated, spawning this vile demon bastard footwear spotted recently in Houston. Where it is 100 degrees."

- "Help me, people. I’ve had enough…I’m ready to have a Croc & Ugg bonfire party. I’m sure the melting Croc material will tear a hole in the ozone from the fumes, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take to eradicate these eye sores."
