Cristal Taylor was arrested at Dirk Nowitzki's Preston Hollow, a Dallas suburb, home on May 6, 2009. Considered a fugitive since 2001, Taylor has allegedly has used several aliases over the course of two decades and in at least two states.
Nowitzki reportedly became suspicious about Taylor's past and had started to question her in early May 2009, but he continued to let her live in his home. As of May 13, 2009, Taylor has been indicted in Beaumont and the bond on the theft of service charge was raised from $20,000 to $50,000. She was arraigned on May 18, 2009 before Jefferson County Criminal District Court Judge John Stevens regarding the theft of service charge. On May 13, 2009, former NFL quarterback Tony Banks publicly stated that he believes Taylor to be the same woman who targeted and harassed him in 1997.
