Materia Fusion offers a great range of flexibility within Final Fantasy VII, enabling you to custom-build skills and stats by gaining sufficient special points (SP) to activate two magic stones and fuse two Materia together, creating a new one. There are a total of 143 obtainable Materia in Final Fantasy VII that are divided into 4 categories: Magic, Command, Independent, and Support. The Materia Fusion menu is unlocked after a few hours of Final Fantasy VII gameplay when Zack is promoted to SOLDIER 1st Class in Chapter 4.
