Independent Materia within Final Fantasy VII boosts stats, such as 10% HP/MP/AP, or adds points to Strength, Vitality, Magic, and Spirit stats. Independent Materia is passive and does not need to be activated during battle. It comes in two shades of purple. Other types of Materia include Command, Magic, and Support.
