The Crimson Dynamo is a name given to several villains in the universe of Marvel Comics. Typically, Dynamos are a Soviet incarnation of Iron Man, donning powerful armored suits and fighting for the preservation of the Communist way of life.
After it was confirmed that actor Mickey Rourke would appear in the film Iron Man 2, it was speculated that he would most likely portray a version of Crimson Dynamo, renamed Whiplash.Slash Film: Mickey Rourke Has Signed For Iron Man 2 (March 11, 2009)
