Crezdon Butler was born on May 26, 1987, in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended Asheville High School where he played at cornerback and quarterback. Butler helped the team win the North Carolina AAA state title and was the MVP of the championship game. Butler went on to attend and play college football for the Clemson Tigers football team. He had 40-consecutive starts, the second-most of a cornerback in team history. In his junior year, Butler had 68 tackles, four interceptions and three tackles for a loss.
