Creed

Creed was a Grammy winning band whose spiritual message and hard rock theatrics made them a lightning rod for both praise and derision.

Background

Formed in the early '90s in Florida, they recorded their debut, My Own Prison on a shoestring budget and released it independently. After the band signed to Wind-up Records and re-released the album nationwide, they began building momentum behind hit singles such as "Torn," "One," and "What's This Life For?"

Creed's follow up, Human Clay, became a huge success with number one singles "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." In total, the band's three albums have sold over 20 million copies in the United States alone.

Post Break-up

Creed disbanded in 2004 after their third album. Since breaking up, lead singer Scott Stapp has gone on to attempt a solo career, while guitarist Mark Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips started their own band called Alter Bridge.

2009 Reunion

According to Billboard, Creed will be reuniting for a tour in 2009. The band has not performed together since 2004.Billboard: Creed Hammering Out Reunion Details (December 1, 2008)
